“I am absolutely certain we can have a car and a driver here in twenty minutes sir. I only need to know what sort of car and what sort of driver you would prefer. And yes I expect that your day in wine country will be splendid. The weather will be perfect.” The 20 minute wait for the special car and driver to arrive will not be wasted . The concieerge first calls ahead for luncheon reservations at the spot that normally requires two weeks notice. Next he will call the wineries for any special considerations that might be possible for the guest. After all everything must be the best. The larger day’s work begins for the concierege with a review of arriving guests listed on the arriving guest’’s list. Their special considerations will be noted in his log. He opens that delicious document with the same excitement felt by a maestro opening the score of a beautiful symphony. Appreciating that not everyone who travels is fully acquainted with the full range of services that he can provide, the concierage will promptly call each guest within minutes of arrival to extend a most personal introduction and as well a warm invitation to take full advantage of his skills and resources. To him and his hotel each guest is the most special person.
